The idea for the sterling silver charms on this page is adopted from a German tradition for a happy marriage and home.  There is an old tradition of twelve symbols that insure happiness for a newlywed's life together.  The symbols represented by these sterling silver charms were researched by Olga Whitehurst (1953).
